Description

One abandoned GE 2-C+C-2 dubbed "v8" in the state of Sao Paulo and "escandalosa" in the state of Rio de Janeiro in the "Coca Cola" paint phase of the FEPASA(Ferrovia Paulista S.A.), it's a brazilian version of the EP-4 (Little Joe), this locomotive is one of the most iconic locos of Brazil, in total 37 of them were manufactured in the USA by the GE, the first lot of 4 locomotives come to Brazil in 1940 to the CPEF(Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro) or simply CP, and the final lots come to Brazil in 1948, one for the CP of 6 units and other for the EFCB(Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil) of 15 units.
This locomotives are much loved by the brazilians railfans principally who lived in the time of operation of this loco, this loco have led too much passengers express trains of the time of the FEPASA, CP, EFCB, and RFFSA, the locomotives have operated until the 90s.
One unit has restored in the CP colors and it is in the rail yard of the immigrant museum in the center of the city of São Paulo, it is in operating condition, and some times it pulls touristic trains.

Forgot to say the brazilian railway speed record belongs to a v8, the FEPASA number 6386 on 5/16/1989 reaches a total speed of 164Km|h or 102mph, the train runned between the city of Itirapina and Rio Claro in the state of São Paulo, that record still stands today, this unit already has scrapped.
